Central Pool Hall
Historic Preservation
Point Richmond, CA
|
This 5,000 square-foot, two-story masonry and wood frame building was built
circa 1906. It is a contributing building to the Point Richmond Historic
District.
Extensive structural upgrading for seismic resistance was included in the
building's renovation. New foundation underpinning, shear diaphragm
connections and a new steel frame to brace the front walls were installed.
The front facade was rehabilitated to conserve the existing historic second
story and the first floor storefront was designed and reconstructed to be
compatible with similar historical facades of the era.
