Master Planning and Preliminary Design

Interactive Resources completed master planning and preliminary design for a
building complex adjacent to the California State Capitol in Sacramento.
Several alternatives were considered for the project, including a 30-story
office tower and 600 room hotel, with a pedestrian level retail complex and a
1,500 car garage. City officials were concerned that the buildings not
overshadow the State Capitol dome, so a scaled-down version of the project
including a 20-story office tower and 480 room hotel were designed. The
final version incorporated traditional architectural styles and a rose-beige
terra-cotta facade with the original modern, glass wall design.
