Building IA-10 Renovation
Concord Naval Weapons Station
Concord, CA

Interactive Resources provided planning and design services for the renovation
of approximately 6,500 square feet on the north wing of the Third Floor of
Building IA-10 at the Concord Naval Weapons Station. This area of the building
was previously used as a Marine Corps barracks, and was converted to
administrative offices.
At the initiation of work on this project, Interactive Resources reviewed
program requirements with the Naval Weapons Station staff, identified several
alternatives for renovation, and prepared a feasibility analysis and concept
study reviewing each alternative. The analysis of each alternative included
construction cost estimates. The selected alternative involved demolition of
existing partitions, rest rooms, and ceilings, and the construction of new
partitions, ceilings, lighting, flooring, rest rooms, and new heating,
ventilation, and air conditioning.
Following the selection of the preferred alternative, Interactive Resources
prepared comprehensive construction documents and specifications for the
project, which was completed in 1993.
Our work on Building IA-10 was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation in April
1994 at a Navy Symposium in San Diego. In awarding the Certificate, LCDR T.E.
Spear, Deputy Officer in Charge of Construction, commented, "In the spirit of
cooperation and teamwork, the A/E (Interactive Resources) willingly made the
extra effort...The A/E's ability to convey their ideas and visions onto plans
and specs is evident by the praise received from the Customer."
