Baltic Square Retail and Office Building Point Richmond, CA

This urban infill project incorporated the design of a new 8,800 square-foot commercial building as well as the addition of a deck and expansion of the adjacent historic Baltic Restaurant building.

The main goal of this project was to create a sustainable, environmentally and contextually sensitive new mixed-use building while preserving the integrity and complimenting the style of its historic neighboring structures.

The front façade design incorporates bay windows, architectural exterior features and a parapet that reflect the historic fabric of a by-gone era. The size, scale and shape of the new building, along with its exterior finishes, color scheme and other architectural details, pay homage to the adjacent historic structures. Material selection was based upon a survey of surrounding buildings.
