Albany Community Center
Investigation and Repair
Albany, CA
Interactive Resources provided forensic architectural services and design of repairs for massive wood decay in the City of Albany’s Library and Community Center Building.

The building was originally completed at a cost of about $5.5 million in 1993, and houses the city's recreation department, the city's community center and the Albany branch library.

In April of 2002, large chunks of stucco fell off an exterior wall of the tower. Investigations revealed pervasive decay of wood framing and sheathing. Repairs included replacing approximately half of the exterior stucco and totally reconstructing the wood-framed portion of the tower.
