Interactive Resources was retained by SunLink Solar Corporation and provided the only analysis and design for the attachment of the array supports to the roof. The design on the following pages relies on several sources which will be referenced when appropriate in the calculations and drawings. The PV panel support system is SunLink furnished by Eastwood Energy Corporation. The existing warehouse and office building framing was reviewed and approved for the additional collector loads by William Larson, SE 3148, of Point 2 Structural Engineers in Sacramento, CA.
The low five degree profile being used at this project results in minimal loads to the array supports. To insure a conservative recommendation for the structural adhesive, the design assumes that all loads would be resisted only by the perimeter collector panel supports and that friction does not exist. It was not considered that all of the panels are connected and the net force is reduced by the friction between the unglued bracket pads and the roof surface.
