Interactive Resources is providing structural engineering design services for the San Francisco Sunset Reservoir project, including work on the anchorage of arrays, inverter anchorage, inverter foundations and associated retaining wall. The completed project will include 25,000 solar panels on the rooftop of the eight-block reservoir. When completed, this 5-megawatt system will be the largest in California and the largest municipal solar project in the country.
Interactive Resources was instrumental in developing
a low-profile pad concept to support the inverter
while saving budget and being more site friendly. A
significant challenge was the design of the collector
anchors to resist wind loads and preserve the integrity of the expansive roof.
