Accessibility Surveys and Improvements

Interactive Resources has been helping clients to comply with civil rights legislation ever since the Americans with Disabilities Act mandates became effective. Our architects and accessibility specialists perform accessibility surveys, identify architectural barriers, and recommend repair solutions with cost estimates. Architectural barrier removal is included in practically all of our remodeling project designs.

The firm has provided building inspection and evaluation services for ten federal buildings ranging in size from 86,000 to 1,000,000 square feet for the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). Additionally, we developed a generic format for the completion of accessibility surveys and reports which includes consideration of compliance with the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS), Title 24 of the California Administrative Code, and the ADA.

Our largest accessibility project to date was the survey of the Stanford University campus, in association with Evan Terry Associates. The survey included 193 buildings, totaling nearly 4.8 million square feet, and more than four square miles of exterior paths of travel.
