Ms. Butt has more than 7 years of professional experience in architecture. Her experience includes: design for historic building rehabilitations, existing condition surveys, architectural surveys, historic research, historic building evaluations, historic structures reports, National Register nominations, Historic American Building Survey documentation, and tax credit applications. She is also a skilled model builder, drafter, and renderer, and a certified ADA surveyor. She meets the Secretary of the Interior's qualification standards for professionals in architectural history and architecture as published in the Code of Federal Regulations, 36 CFR Part 61.

Project Experience at the University of California Berkeley
Ms. Butt conducted research and completed the footnotes for Professor Stephen Tobriner's book Bracing for Disaster. The work focused on the historical and structural responses to earthquakes in the San Francisco Bay Area. In addition, she served as a general research assistant to professor Kathleen James-Chakraborty.
Project Experience at Carey & Co. Inc
As a preservation specialist, she wrote historic structures reports, national register nominations, tax credit applications, historic resource evaluations, and state DPR forms. She also worked on the design of several rehabilitation and restoration projects. Her projects also included large scale historic resource surveys for the cities of Sacramento and San Francisco, and numerous reports for the National Park Service and the California Department of Parks and Recreation.
