Staff Profiles: Michael C. Kurty, AIA

  Contact by email

Michael began his architectural career in 1978 while still in High School. Working summers for a prominent local architect and then several other firms, Michael earned his way through college while also developing his architectural experience and talents. He joined Interactive Resources in October 2007, after having operated his own architectural practice for sixteen years in Sonoma County. His past responsibilities have included all phases of design, documentation, and construction of residential, commercial, and industrial building projects. His extensive list of residential projects include single-family homes, multi-family housing complexes, high-end estate residences, and semi-custom subdivisions. His commercial work has included remodels/additions, small retail projects, medical office buildings, multi-level office buildings, and tenant improvements. His industrial projects have included wine production buildings, wine storage facilities, large warehouses, and research/development buildings for the high-tech industry.

While Michael enjoys interesting and challenging building types, he feels great satisfaction when working closely with the client towards achievement of complicated needs and/or financial constraints.

More about Michael

On the personal side...

Michael enjoys being physically active: waterskiing, backpacking, racquetball, and wilderness adventures. His favorite hobbies include playing poker and tasting fine wine. As an avid chess player, he is always seeking a worthy opponent. But mostly, Michael loves to take his family and friends on sailing trips all over the San Francisco Bay and along the California coast aboard his boat, ‘DreamCatcher.’
