Andrew Butt, AIA, LEED AP BD+C
Managing Principal

Andrew is the Managing Principal and Director of Design at Interactive Resources, Inc. With more than 27 years of project management experience, he places a strong emphasis on establishing effective communication and trust between the design team and his clients. His leadership style incorporates extensive experience, technical expertise, and a firm commitment to sustainable design principles.

Andrew’s hands-on approach to project management and his passion for creating healthy and high-performing spaces make him a valuable asset in ensuring the success of every project undertaken by the firm. His approach to design, whether it involves a campus, a new building, or an alteration or addition to an existing structure, begins with a deep understanding of the client’s requirements and a contextual awareness of the project’s physical, social, historical, and cultural aspects.

Andrew lives in Point Richmond with his wife Kim, who is an architect specializing in historic preservation, their teenage son, and their yellow lab Ozark. He has served as planning commissioner for the cities of El Cerrito and Richmond, and served as chair of the Richmond Design Review Board and El Cerrito Planning Commission. Andrew is also very involved in the local community through his volunteer work as board president of Point Richmond Music, which he co-founded, and currently serves on the board of directors of the Richmond Museum of History and Point Richmond Gateway Foundation, and sits on the West Contra Costa Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee.
