Structural Engineer  

Our Richmond office seeks a Structural Engineer with a minimum of five years of relevant experience, including experience with lateral/seismic design. This position will contribute to the engineering of building design and construction administration and will assist in the analysis, documentation and design of buildings creating structural calculations, plans and specifications. A wide degree of creativity, initiative and latitude is expected.

B.S. degree in Civil/Structural Engineering is required; M.S. desirable. PE license in the state of California required; SE license desirable. Applicants should have an excellent working knowledge of building codes (CBC, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI) and construction practices, as well as demonstrable technical expertise in building design (steel, concrete, masonry). Applicants should have good skills with structural design software, including Revit Structural, RISA3D, and Enercalc. Experience with RISAFloorES, and RISAFoundation is a plus.

Applicants must have good written and oral communication skills and understand how to develop and maintain good working relationships with clients. An ability to cultivate new connections and network within the trade to bring new clients is expected. Candidates must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, manage projects effectively, and also work closely with design team to produce high quality structural drawings.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis, design, and documentation of structural systems including: structural layouts, element and component design and specifications
  • Develop solutions to challenging building structural issues integrated with architecture, other engineering disciplines for the use of construction and manufacturing teams
  • Contribute to ensure designs are compliant with the companies’ principles of design for manufacturing, assembly, and systems integration
  • Perform site inspections
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, technical memorandums, recommendations, and cost estimates

Should have a willingness to travel (locally and or out of state, as needed) for meetings, to perform field work, and support clients. International candidates must provide proof of ability to work in the U.S.

Revit Specialist (3-6 Years Experience)  

Our Richmond office seeks a highly motivated Designer/Drafter who is talented, attentive, possesses strong organizational skills, and is interested in advancing in a small and energetic work environment.

The position promises diverse experience, active mentorship, and well-rounded skill development, with initial building types focusing on public education, commercial and municipal projects with the opportunity to expand into wineries and mixed use. We work in a very collaborative environment and value empowering and advancing our staff. Candidate needs to possess excellent detailing capability, graphics and verbal / written communication skills. Position will focus largely on commercial / institutional projects and will require the ability to develop details. Responsibilities will include assisting in all aspects of the design, documentation, and construction process. A good understanding of the literal and symbolic language expressed by architectural details, order of construction assembly, and the relationship to specifications are expected basic knowledge.


  • Expertise in Revit (current version) with strong experience working with families, detailing, and work sharing
  • Proficiency in legacy applications with emphasis in AUTOCAD 2012 or higher – including discipline in proper layer management, setting up sheets and plotting and electronic file publishing
  • Knowledge of standard building components and construction methods and the ability to clearly model or represent them in a variety of graphic means and BIM software
  • DSA or GSA experience a plus
  • MUST be located in, or relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area and hold a valid US passport, green card, or work visa. Relocation costs not paid


  • US Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) or B.A. in Architecture
