Interactive Resources is currently serving as the historic architect for the Crockett Community Services District on the rehabilitation of Crockett’s Memorial Hall. Our historical services for the District have included preparing the Historic Resource Evaluation, the National Register Nomination, and the schematic design drawings and cost estimate for the rehabilitation.
The building was found eligible for the National Register of Historic Places both for its unique architecture, as well as for its association with the national and regional memorialization of World War I. The building, an unreinforced masonry brick structure, was completed in 1925 using funding from Contra Costa County.
At just under 2,000 square-feet, the building requires the interior plan to be extremely efficient. The project scope includes: public access, code compliance, disability access, electrical and mechanical systems upgrades, structural upgrades, restroom alterations, exterior door and window restoration, and exterior stucco restoration. All work must adhere to the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties
Interactive Resources continues to work closely with the Community Services District to address their needs and goals for the building, while balancing the requirements of code compliance and meeting the required historical guidelines.
