The YMCA is a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community by empowering young people, improving the health and well-being of people of all ages and inspiring action in and across communities. The YMCA has an early learning center, pool, gymnasium, fitness center and offers after school care.
Interactive Resources, Inc. was retained by the YMCA of the East Bay to convert racket ball courts into an early learning center on the ground floor of the YMCA building 2 located at 4300 Lakeside Drive in Richmond, California. The project design includes several classrooms with State-mandated restroom facilities (accessible from classrooms, along with outdoor play space as required by the State of California.
The project began with working with stakeholders at YMCA to determine program requirements, followed by construction documents for the alterations. The design included: ADA accessibility improvements, new flooring, furniture (layout only – sourced by YMCA), new ceiling, new doors and walls for each classroom space and new outdoor play area.
Our services included: construction documents, Title 24 report, technical specifications, permitting, bidding, and construction administration services.
