As a subconsultant to LSA Associates, Interactive Resources provided architectural and structural engineering services for the roof replacement at 150 Jeep Trail in the La Honda Creek Open Space Preserve in Unincorporated San Mateo County, California. The Red Barn is a two-story, wood frame structure (main floor with a loft) that was built approximately in 1890 and is an official historical landmark in San Mateo County. The barn was originally built by the Weeks family for housing ranch animals and storing equipment and hay.

Midpen is an independent special district that protects and preserves the greater Santa Cruz Mountains region by preserving more than 70,000 acres of public open space.

Interactive Resources, Inc. provided an assessment of the existing conditions of the roof and a structural assessment, and then prepared construction documents for the roof replacement. Construction administration was provided during construction.

The Red Barn is eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places and the California Register of Historical Resources, and this project was designed to be in compliance with the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
