Our President and Founder, Tom Butt, attended graduate school at UCLA 1971-73, receiving a Master’s Degree in Architecture and Urban Design. Having just left the Army the previous year, he used the GI Bill to pay for it, and his wife, Shirley, worked to support them.
In 1973, Tom founded Interactive Resources, celebrating our 52nd anniversary this year.
Recently Tom was informed that he was selected for a 2025 Bruin Excellence in Civic Engagement honor, which recognizes alumni who are improving the quality of life in their communities, engaging with civic issues and community organizations, inspiring change and expanding the Bruin network through both political and nonpolitical processes.
These alumni visionaries, volunteers and leaders engage with community organizations, find solutions to today’s civic issues and improve the quality of life in our communities. https://alumni.ucla.edu/bruin-excellence-in-civic-engagement-2025/
Tom and Shirley will join other honorees at a reception at UCLA on October 15. https://lnkd.in/gVciyahR hashtag#BruinExcellence2025
