Interactive Resources, Inc. is a 2026 AIA East Bay Design Awards finalist in the Adaptive Reuse category for our work rehabilitating UC Berkeley‘s historic campus powerhouse, now medium voltage Switch Station 8! Built in 1904 and designed by John Galen Howard, the Powerhouse has been given a new purpose as part of UC Berkeley’s campus electrification initiative. The project brings modern electrical infrastructure into the building while preserving its historic character.
